Man dies after jumping from a building in Mexico City

On the morning of this Monday, June 17, a man died after falling from the sixth floor of a building in front of the Palace of Fine Arts, in the Historic Center.

The incident occurred in the Sears store building on Juárez Avenue, almost at the intersection with the Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, in the Centro neighborhood.

According to the first witnesses, the man entered the building of the commercial chain, went to the cafeteria that operates on the sixth floor, and once there jumped onto the street without the establishment’s staff being able to do anything to prevent it.

Police officers cordoned off the area and reported it to the Public Ministry agent for the corresponding expert services and investigations of the case.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security explained that upon arrival the police observed a man of approximately 30 years of age, who was wearing a green long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and tennis shoes, who was on the asphalt with a blood stain on his head. Due to the above, they requested medical services and paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergencies Squad who arrived at the site and diagnosed him with no vital signs.
