She highlighted the connectivity of the terminal with the airport and various archaeological sites.

Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa toured the construction of section 7 of the Mayan Train, which she described as the most important infrastructure work in Mexico in this century and the train of social justice for Quintana Roo, which brings shared prosperity to the state.

“We are supervising the construction of the terminal, waiting rooms, commercial premises, bathrooms, the VIP room, and the ticket office; we are touring the platforms and their area for the boarding and disembarking of passengers, plus the green and urbanized areas,” explained the head of the state Executive.

Mara Lezama added that, from here, visitors will be able to connect with the airport and the archaeological sites that are very close, such as Oxtankah, which was the largest pre-Hispanic city in the bay of Chetumal.

Among this archaeological wealth, the governor of Quintana Roo highlighted Kohunlich, with its impressive masks that are related to the deity of the sun and Venus, which can be visited by the millions of tourists who come to the state every year and now to the south of the state.

She said that the Mayan Train will allow the world to know the splendor of the Mayan culture, while integrating cultural tourism, which will bring shared prosperity and social well-being to the families of southern Quintana Roo, which works 24/7 based on the New Agreement for Well-being and Development.

Mara Lezama invited everyone, Quintana Roo residents, visitors, and tourists, to explore the essence of our origin, where the land beats from our ancestors and the recovery of our identity.
