The Yucatecan capital achieved a score of 92.74 out of a possible 100, becoming the second safest city on the continent, only behind Quebec, Canada.
In the report, the Yucatecan capital was ranked as the safest city in Mexico in this measurement, followed by Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro, Monterrey, San Miguel de Allende, Cancún, Puebla and Guadalajara.
The very positive results in terms of security are a consequence of the security policy led by the state government through actions and schemes such as Yucatán Seguro, with which the police are being provided with equipment, technology and strong training to go from 2,248 cameras at 6,775 and 100 road arches at 219.
