To bring elderly people closer to items that they once used during their lives, this Friday the Mobile Museum was held for a single day, a project promoted by students of the degree in History of the Faculty of Anthropological Sciences of the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY).

Víctor Medina Suárez, coordinator of the project, indicated that this exhibition, which was aimed at students from the Universidad de los Mayores (University of the Elders), made them remember moments from their past, since they were able to observe objects that at some point they used and that due to development, they fell into daily disuse.

“This material culture makes us remember different moments, different eras. It is part of our past and let us finally remember that we are a product of the past, of the experiences and the different processes that we have experienced as people and citizens because in the end we have memory and we remember,” he mentioned.

Likewise, the interviewee said that the exhibition also had the purpose of telling the stories behind the material objects on display, since they speak of moments and eras, which allow us to know certain aspects of development as a society in the political, economic, technological and other fields.
