Vacancies for kitchen workers, waiters, and housekeepers were opened, with salaries ranging up to 22 thousand pesos a month.
The lodging centers continue to search for talent for their staff, especially in operational areas, maintaining between five and 10% deficits.
Eduardo Dominguez Ibarra, vice president of the Association of Hotels of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, explained that to this is added the new openings that also require adding collaborators, which is why they maintain their job fairs in the offices with at less than 14 hotels that focus on one place to show their offer.
The job fair reported a significant influx, as many begin looking for employment for the summer holidays, while many lodging centers also look for temporary staff.
So far this year they have had at least two new openings and this leads to new talent, which leads to staff turnover, although occupancy rates remain above 70 to 80%.
Last year, in at least 10 job fairs that were held, 17% of job seekers were hired, with almost 5,900 vacancies offered.
These job fairs are held every two months, at the facilities of the Association of Hotels of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres. On Monday, June 10th, nearly 400 vacancies were offered at the tourism sector fair, which is added to other initiatives in the destination.
