Municipalities in Yucatán fear being isolated after the rains

The rains continue to wreak havoc on the entity and in addition to the damage to the fields and crops, there are also landslides and fallen trees on the roads.

In Tekax, motorists reported landslides and fallen trees on the roads, due to heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, which have fallen in recent days.

According to guides who pass through these areas, among the sections damaged by rainfall are those that lead to the Kantemó and Nohalal police stations.

In the first section, drivers stated, that trees and huge stones fell from the hills and rock formations that are along the route of the road and blocked a part of the road, which could be a danger for drivers.

As for the Nohalal road, trees fell and it was flooded, which affects vehicular traffic.

In Tzucacab, residents of the Nohbec and Sacbecán police stations warn of possible flooding due to the water level rising in the sections leading to the headwaters.

Those affected fear that the flood will worsen and they will be cut off in the coming hours.

If they are waters from Campeche’s rivers, they can flood the roads or wash out the highway and block the passage, they commented with concern. Civil Protection and the Municipal Police reported that they continue with tours of vulnerable police stations.

Neighbors of the Sacbecán and Nohbec police stations expressed their concern about this medium since the water level is rising on the road that connects these two police stations and the municipal capital and they fear that in the next few hours, they could be cut off from communication.

Municipal authorities reported that they continued with the tours to verify the conditions of the water currents that pass through this municipality and that until the early hours of Friday, June 21, there were no problems. In both police stations, there is concern because the heavy rains started in the early morning and were intermittent.
