Two steel structures part of a Maya Train bridge collapsed in Chetumal, Quintana Roo

The heavy rains brought by Tropical Cyclone I caused the fall of two steel structures part of a Maya Train bridge in Chetumal, Quintana Roo.

The first report indicates that the accident occurred where work on Section 7 of the Mayan Train is being carried out, at the entrance to Chetumal, near the C4 Security complex.

The heavy structure collapsed and crushed a Nissan stake-type vehicle, although several men were seen working at the scene, no injuries were reported.

Section 7 of the Mayan Train covers from Bacalar, Quintana Roo, to Escárcega, Campeche, passing through cities such as Chetumal, Calderitas and Xpujil.

This is the second incident recorded so far this month; Days ago, two workers were injured after the collapse of a similar structure in the community of Xul Ha where a fall from several meters high was recorded.

The first incident recorded this month was recorded near the Xul-Ha community.
