Yucatán also reported heavy rainfall, due to tropical wave 6, which will also affect Chiapas, among others.

The displacement of a low pressure area associated with tropical wave number six caused heavy rains and flooding in Quintana Roo on Saturday, June 29th.

The State Coordination of Civil Protection predicted heavy to torrential rains, which began early Thursday morning and continued during the morning of Saturday, June 29.

The city of Cancún registers flooded streets, as well as damage from fallen trees in the Casas del Mar subdivision and in Supermanzana 51, Hormiga Street.

For this reason, authorities urged citizens not to leave their homes if not necessary, as they sought to prevent vehicles from being stranded in puddles.

In a preliminary report, it was revealed that Yaxchilán, Cobá, Uxmal, Chichén Itzá, Bonampak, Nichupté and Leona Vicario avenues recorded severe flooding of at least 30 centimeters in some sections.

Heavy rains and flooding were also recorded in Chetumal, so the authorities implemented Operation Storm, in which the traffic department, police, Civil Protection and Fire Department participated.

Due to the low pressure area associated with tropical wave number 6, with cyclonic potential, located over the Campeche Sound, torrential rains were forecast in Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo and Yucatán.
