Chichén Itzá Archaeological Zone will temporarily close due to Hurricane Beryl

The Great Museum and the Archaeological Zone of Chichén Itzá will temporarily close as a civil protection measure.

The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, through the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) and the INAH Yucatán Center, informs that the Great Museum and the Archaeological Zone of Chichén Itzá will temporarily close as a civil protection measure.

The Great Museum of Chichén Itzá will be closed starting July 3, 2024, until further notice; Meanwhile, the archaeological zone will close from July 4 to 6, and will reopen to the public on July 7, 2024.

The measures are part of the Cultural Heritage Disaster Prevention Program (Previnah).
