A social media user accused on Facebook that a driver from the Va y Ven system kicked off a passenger because she had a puppy in a carrier.

Today, I had the misfortune of witnessing a very bitter moment in the Va y Ven (…) a driver who did not want to continue the route if the lady with the puppy did not go down, Andrés Pacheco posted.

He stressed that the dog was in its carrier, was not making any noise, and was not annoying anyone.

Pacheco said the driver had not realized the dog was on the bus until it barked once.

The user reported in his message that the driver insisted so much that police officers had to intervene. The officers asked the woman to get off and called for a taxi to continue her route since she was not from Mérida.

After the incident, the driver refused to continue with the route. The passengers had to get off the bus and wait for the next one.

The situation caused the outrage of internet users, who demanded that pets be allowed to get on buses as long as they were in carriers. Only assistance dogs are allowed to enter the Va y Ven buses. However, images of dogs in the buses have been published more than once.
