Due to Hurricane “Beryl” flights are canceled at the airports of Mérida and Cancún

The proximity and danger of Hurricane “Beryl”, which is heading to the Yucatan Peninsula, caused the main airlines with operations in the international airports of Mérida, Yucatán, and Cancún, Quintana Roo, to cancel on Thursday, July 4, just over 80 flights, arrivals, and departures, to destinations in the country and abroad.

In Mérida airport, 32 flights were canceled, mostly to domestic destinations, but airlines from Guatemala, the United States, and Havana, Cuba also canceled their flights for today and tomorrow.

According to information provided by the Yucatan hotel sector, which received the information about the cancellations, the airlines that have operations in the Mérida terminal and suspended their flights are Aerus, Aeroméxico, Viva Aerobús, Magniccharter, and TAG.

The destinations affected by these suspensions are Mexico City, the United States, Guatemala, Cancún, Monterrey, Havana, and Guadalajara, among others.

In the Cancun airport, which handles thousands of passengers and receives flights from various parts of the world, cancellations exceed 50 flights.

As recommended by the administrator of the Mérida airport, Oscar Carrillo Maldonado, passengers should be aware of the notices from the airlines where they have their reservations.
