Elderly woman saved from drowning in Progreso

Progreso, Yucatan (Sunday, July 14).- A family that came to this port to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon on the beach, was shocked when the grandmother almost drowned near the Chocolate Pier (Muelle de Chocolate).

The 79-year-old woman began to drown, but due to the prompt intervention of the family, bathers, and paramedics, they were able to save her life.

Agents of the municipal police also arrived at the site and the woman was transferred to the Health Center for better care.
