Governor-elect Joaquín Díaz Mena met with the ambassadors of France and Italy

The Governor-elect of Yucatan, Joaquín Díaz Mena, met in Mexico City with the ambassadors of France and Italy, Delphine Borione and Alessandro Modiano respectively, to build new bridges of investment, culture, education, and tourism for Yucatan.

To promote bilateral cooperation and boost new investments for Yucatan, the Governor-elect, Joaquín Díaz Mena, met in Mexico City with the ambassador of France, Delphine Borione, and the ambassador of Italy, Alessandro Modiano.

Both nations seek to promote initiatives that strengthen ties with Mexico through their embassies, as well as collaboration projects, and the promotion of trade, culture, education, and tourism.

In this sense, Díaz Mena seeks to build bridges through these diplomatic relations, to promote new investments in Yucatan, tourism promotion, collaboration in education and cultural exchanges, as well as security cooperation, to strengthen the security of Yucatan through constant training of our police forces.

In particular, with the French ambassador, the Governor-elect addressed issues of innovation and sustainable development. The Embassy has facilitated the connection between leading French companies in Mexico and the Mexican business community, generating opportunities for collaboration and promoting the exchange of knowledge and technologies.

The Italian ambassador in Mexico explained that his embassy seeks to take advantage of the new Mexico-European Union treaty to expand the market for Italian agri-food products, opening new commercial opportunities and strengthening economic ties between both countries. Italy celebrates the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations with exhibitions and cultural events, which promote Italian art and cultural history.

With both ambassadors, the Governor-elect of Yucatan spoke about his Mayan Renaissance Plan and the new investment opportunities that will be offered by the modernization of Puerto Progreso and its connection with the Mayan Train in its tourism and cargo modalities, the investment in industrial parks with natural gas and the railway projection and the boost announced by the virtual President-elect, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with the multimodal connection between the Trans-Isthmus Train, the Mayan Train and the Port of Progreso.
