The most affected states from June 16 to 29 of this year are in the southern region of the country, with Oaxaca being the one with the highest number of new cases with 490, in addition to its first death, a 19-year-old girl for this same reason. In the north-central part of the country, these are the states with the highest percentage increase, Coahuila went from having no cases to registering 15 in two weeks, and in Guanajuato, cases increased by 314%. The cause, experts say, is the rain, but so is the storage of water that thousands receive by batch or by pipe.
