Hurricane Beryl is expected to make landfall in the next few hours
“Beryl is approaching south of the Windward Islands and is expected to land in the next hour to two hours,” the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned in a Monday morning update.

The NHC reiterates, “This is a hazardous and potentially deadly situation. Take steps now to protect your life.” This warning underscores the gravity of the situation. The NHC warns that residents of the Grenadines and Carriacou Island should not leave their shelters as winds will increase rapidly, highlighting the potential danger.

Chris has now weakened to a tropical depression.
Chris was downgraded to a tropical depression as it advanced over Mexican territory, according to a 06:15 a.m. local time (07:16 a.m. Miami time) update from the National Weather Service.

This tropical depression is located over the municipality of Filomeno Mata, in Veracruz, and originates from torrential to heavy rains in eastern and central areas of the country.

“Electrical discharges may accompany the rains; they could also cause an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, landslides, puddles, and flooding in low-lying areas of these regions,” says the SMN.
