Beryl moves away from state territory and no longer represents a risk to the population; work and economic activities resume normally.
Fallen trees and light poles, lack of electricity supply in some streets, and other minor incidents, but without human losses to regret, was the balance left by Hurricane “Beryl” as it passed through Yucatán and after it departed from the state territory.
All restrictive measures implemented as a precaution against this natural phenomenon are lifted, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal announced.
In a message addressed to the Yucatecans through social networks, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal highlighted the great prevention work done together that allows us to have a white balance, for which he thanked the Yucatecans for their understanding and called on them so that starting tomorrow “Let’s continue working very hard to continue building the best Yucatán of all time.”
Given this, the Governor indicated that as of Friday, July 5th, non-essential work and economic activities resume normally, the Prohibition Law is lifted, the public transportation service is normalized, and it will operate as usual.
When taking stock of the contingency, the Governor indicated that, according to the reports available so far, only the fall of trees, branches, and poles was recorded, so elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), Civil Protection and the Armed Forces contribute to lifting them.
Regarding the supply of electrical energy, Vila Dosal recalled that the restoration of service is an issue that is the responsibility of the federal government through the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), which is why users must file their reports through the number 071.
