Mérida remains in a relative “calm before the storm”. Areas without electricity and with limited internet service are already beginning. The state is divided into red alert and without economic activity and a dry law.
At this time, and with the conditions described, the radio remains the main means of updating.
Update on the possible trajectory of Hurricane Beryl:
8.30 am report
- At 8.00 am I would be entering Yucatan through the Dzitoch and Xulub police stations of Chichimila.
- At 10.00 am it would be over the area of Tixcacacupul and Kaua.
- At 11.00 am I would be hitting Piste.
- At 12:00 p.m. it will impact the Yotzonot and Libre Union area, Yaxcaba police stations.
- At 1:00 p.m. it will be passing through the area of Izamal, Kantunil and Sotuta.
- At 2:00 p.m. it would be crossing between the municipalities of Hoctun and Cacalchen.
- At 3:00 p.m. you will pass through Tixcocob and Baca.
- At 4:00 p.m. it would be passing through the entire eastern area of Merida from North to South.
- At 5:00 p.m. the eye of the phenomenon would be covering the city of Merida.
- At 7:00 p.m. it would be impacting the municipalities of Hunucma, Kinchil and Tetis.
- At 8:00 p.m. Celestun would be impacting.
- At 10:00 p.m. I would be in the Gulf of Mexico leaving through Celestun.
–And at midnight it would be completely out of reach of Yucatan.
