On August 2, the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will visit the State again, this time to chair his usual morning conference from Mérida and, later, inaugurate the central offices of the Mayan Train that were built in the north of the Yucatecan capital.

The president will spend the night in the city on Thursday, August 1, to be present the next day at 7:00 a.m. at the morning press conference, which would take place at military air base number 8, located south of this city. , in which he will surely be accompanied by the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, as well as members of the cabinet.

This will be the sixth conference that the President leads in the entity; the most recent was at the air base in January. The first one in Yucatán was carried out in September 2019, and was followed by June 2020, October 2021 and November 2022.

It turned out that López Obrador will also inaugurate the central building of the Mayan Train, which is located in this city, on land given to Fonatur, where the Rodolfo Menéndez de la Peña school previously stood, in the Cordemex area, and in which at some point moment it was intended to try to build the Sustainable Stadium

The property is located on 27th Street, number 305, in the Ampliación Revolución neighborhood, on the opposite corner of the Galerías shopping center, on the exit of the highway to Progreso.

The central offices of the Mayan Train were built on a 5.5 hectare plot of land and will be used by the general management of the “Maya Train” company, that is, the consortium that is in charge of the entire project.
