The governor of the state of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, reported through her social networks about the update of Hurricane Beryl, which has been classified again as category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
So far, the state remains on Blue Alert due to the approach of the phenomenon, although it does not represent an imminent danger for the Mexican Caribbean.
In her message, the governor urged the population to stay informed and alert through official means.

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, Beryl is approaching south of the Windward Islands and is expected to make landfall around noon today.
In a statement, the U.S. National Hurricane Center classified this situation as “extremely dangerous and potentially deadly.”

The state of Quintana Roo, especially coastal areas such as Cancún and Chetumal, remains on Blue Alert, indicating minimal danger. As Beryl continues its westward path, it is expected to affect multiple Caribbean islands before reaching the Yucatan Peninsula.

“Although there is currently no immediate danger for Quintana Roo, it is crucial to be prepared and attentive to any updates,” concluded Governor Mara Lezama.
