As part of the State English Agenda, in its Bilingual Environments aspect, a group of 10 teachers who teach preschool and primary school students from public schools, traveled to Ontario, Canada, as part of the “Global Leaders” program taught by the Lakehead University, located in the city of Thunder Bay.
The teachers, who spend a stay from July 14 to 26, are part of the 1,185 teachers who participate in the “Bilingual Environments” scheme of the Secretariat of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatán (Segey).
During their stay, they will receive training in various topics to reinforce their knowledge of the English language, in addition to participating in recreational and cultural activities in Canada.
The general coordinator of Strategic Programs of Segey explained that, as indicated by the head of Segey, Liborio Vidal Aguilar, all the necessary support is given to teachers to complement their knowledge, which will translate into better learning tools for their students.
