Three nightclubs in Mérida and two private properties were seized by the federal authority since it was discovered that human trafficking was allegedly taking place, which is why some women were also rescued.
Everything was achieved thanks to the operation carried out in the early hours of this Thursday, July 4th by agents of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, which executed separate review orders at the aforementioned sites.
The investigation files were initiated in 2022, and after the corresponding investigations and integrations, a judge’s order was obtained to review the “Candela”, “Bandidas” and “Tropicana” nightclubs.
It was the staff of the FGR who attended, with the support of the Mexican Army, carrying out the corresponding inspections, which led to the securing of those three places, where women of Mexican and foreign origin were rescued.
In addition, two properties were searched, one in the Cordemex neighborhood and another in Gran San Pedro Cholul, which were allegedly used by these people to offer “sexual services” to clients in exchange for large sums of money.
Both the nightclubs and the properties were secured, and at the moment there is no official information regarding these operations that drew the attention of locals and strangers.
