A worker from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) died after falling from the upper part of the building of the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) in the vicinity of the “Ignacio García Téllez” hospital known as “T-1”.
As was found at the scene of the accident, the deceased was on the roof of the building carrying out maintenance work. At one point, the man fell from about 20 meters high.
The death of the worker, who did not have the necessary protective equipment for his work, was instantaneous. They later identified the victim as Carlos C.
Regarding the death of a worker in the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) Specialty Hospital of the National Medical Center (CMN) “Ignacio García Téllez” in Mérida, the IMSS Representation in Yucatán reports:
The IMSS regrets the death of the man and extends its condolences to family and friends.
Given this fact, they activated the institutional protocols, informing the authorities and providing medical attention immediately. The UMAE in Mérida will collaborate promptly with the competent authorities to follow up on the investigation of this incident.
