This innovative project began in December 2022, with the “David Vivas Romero” Elementary School in Tizimín being the first school to be connected with fiber optic internet, as a result of the joint work between the Ministry of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatán (Segey ) and the Secretariat of Administration and Finance (SAF), with the aim of reducing the digital divide in schools in the interior of the state.

This is how this program has reached 2,743 educational establishments, with 100 percent coverage in 73 municipalities and the remaining 33 municipalities are already 90% complete in the connection.
