With the establishment of Industrial Hubs for Well-being, companies in the sector are turning to Yucatán to establish themselves and enhance economic competitiveness in the region.

According to Ernesto Herrera Novelo, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor (SEFOET), the purpose of these hubs is to attract investment and boost the region’s productive capacities, fostering economic development and well-being for its residents. Strengthening municipalities like Progreso and Mérida is crucial for implementing actions that drive economic growth.

The provision of fiscal incentives to attract new investments is essential, giving taxpayers a competitive edge and promoting economic progress across the state. Both state and federal authorities are collaborating to make Yucatán an appealing investment hub, creating jobs and improving well-being.

It’s worth noting that the success of this initiative largely depends on investors and entrepreneurs leveraging these fiscal benefits to contribute to Yucatán’s industrial development. With a supportive environment and government backing, Industrial Hubs for Well-being, such as Progreso I and Mérida I, have the potential to transform the state’s economy and open up new opportunities.

Herrera Novelo emphasized that Yucatán is emerging as a hub for electronic component and semiconductor production, positioning the state as a major player in the industry within southeastern Mexico. Notably, three companies—Falco Electronics Mexico, Ecopulse, and Solarsol—are already established in the state, playing a pivotal role in advancing the electronics sector.
