With a stellar cast led by Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie, Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut delves into the mysteries of a luxurious hacienda in Yucatán.
A few days ago, “Blink Twice” hit theaters, the new film directed by Zoë Kravitz (The Batman) in her directorial debut. This psychological thriller, which features Hollywood actor Channing Tatum, has drawn attention not only for its intriguing plot, but also for its impressive locations, among which stand out the Hacienda Temozón Sur in the municipality of Abalá, Yucatán, and the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo.
The story of “Blink Twice” follows technology magnate Slater King, played by Tatum, who becomes fascinated by Frida, a waitress played by Naomi Ackie. What begins as an invitation to a luxurious vacation on a paradise island soon turns into a suspenseful journey, where dark secrets and mysterious events trigger a fight for survival.
Most of the film was shot at Hacienda Temozón Sur, one of the most emblematic in Yucatan. This hacienda, whose history dates back to the mid-17th century, was initially dedicated to cattle breeding and, later, to the cultivation and export of henequen, the fiber that revolutionized the economy of the Peninsula. The hacienda, with its archway and its main house converted into an elegant restaurant, offers a perfect setting for the film’s intriguing plot.
The place not only stands out for its history but also for its architectural beauty. The central pool, surrounded by the imposing machine house and a cenote in the backyard, provides a visually impressive environment that comes to life on the big screen. In addition, the hacienda features 28 luxuriously furnished suites, including the presidential suite, which offers visitors a unique experience with a private terrace and an exclusive pool.
The cast of “Blink Twice” includes talented actors such as Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Kyle MacLachlan, Haley Joel Osment, Geena Davis, and Alia Shawkat, who, together with the magical setting of Yucatan, manage to immerse the viewer in a story that combines luxury and mystery with an undercurrent of constant tension.
