The Tulum Hotel (Hotel Tulum), which is part of the six official hotels of the Maya Train project, will be opening on September 7 as part of the infrastructure works that will be delivered by the federal government.
Andrés Núñez, head of the Operations Coordination Center of the Maya Train, explained that the hotel is already 72% complete in construction, and will be inaugurated within the framework of the opening of section 5, which is in the Jaguar Park, and will feature 352 rooms.
Being one of the accommodation projects of the mega railway project, it will be less than three kilometers from the Tulum Maya Train station and will have a connection with the archaeological zone, so it will also have different amenities.
In addition to the Tulum hotel, five more are being built in Palenque, Calakmul, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal, and Edzná, which join the tourist offer of the lodging centers that will be official.
These projects seek to benefit from the arrival of visitors using the Maya Train, who until now are national visitors since the international visitors that have ridden the Maya Train are still few.
According to information from the Maya Train, Section 5, which until now is up to Playa del Carmen, has transported 34,258 passengers, of which only 2,800 have been international and growth is expected with the completion of the stations and works, which is expected to be in September.
Hotel Tulum already has a certification from the Ministry of Tourism at the national level, even without opening its doors yet.
