Quintana Roo State Government promotes Spay & Neuter Campaign in Cancun.
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa called on the people of Cancun to take advantage of the Dog and Cat Sterilization Campaign, which is being carried out in a coordinated manner by the Animal Welfare Protection Department of the Benito Juárez City Council and the organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
“We must say yes to adoption, no to buying; yes to sterilization, caring for pets, loving them intensely. We are going for a culture of caring for animals and always saying, in a blunt manner: no to animal abuse,” said Mara Lezama during a visit to the Animal Welfare Center.
According to a bulletin, together with the municipal president of Benito Juárez, Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña, the Governor highlighted that there is a goal of 3,500 sterilized animals, for which she congratulated the team that works in these events, for being an example of what can be achieved in unity and working around the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo.
Ana Paty Peralta reported that every month there are sterilization campaigns, not only for pets, but also for dogs in street situations that are cared for by animal lovers. This campaign is free and lasts two days.
