To guide young people and adults to elicit an impact project in performing arts, the director of the Siniestra Festival, Alexandra Benavides Treviño, will offer the workshop “On theater and other fears” next Tuesday.

The course aims to prepare artists to work on productions and plays during the Day of the Dead and Halloween seasons.

On Tuesday the 27th, at 6:30 in the afternoon, the activity will begin in the video room in the Centro Cultural Olimpo de Mérida, where Benavides Treviño will share theoretical and practical information.

“We are going to learn the science of fear, to understand where it comes from in our bodies because terror is so attractive to us,” she said.

There will be dynamics where “we are going to share topics that worry us and cause us fear. This will serve as a basis to transfer the sensations to the stage”, she added.

To reach the expected result of opening minds to dark art on stage, they will show content and proposals that cause fear. Attendees must perform a brief representation of this type as a team or individually.

“The idea is to provoke terror beyond the immediate scare, to think about internal and social terrors,” Benavides stressed. The workshop will be a single day, lasting two hours. Participation is free.

Those interested can register on the Facebook and Instagram profiles of the Siniestra Festival.
