Yucatan: Subject linked to “Packs Mexico” crimes after FGE appeal
In a recent decision by the Superior Court of Justice, A.D.E. was linked to proceedings for crimes against personal image. The link comes after an appeal filed by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which questioned the judge’s initial decision not to proceed with the case.
A.D.E., accused in criminal case 13/2023, faces charges for displaying intimate photos and videos of his sister-in-law on the Packs Mexico page, an online platform.
The multimedia content was published without the victim’s consent, which constitutes a serious violation of her privacy and personal rights.
The case had initially been dismissed by the judge on duty, who decided not to link the accused to proceedings.
This resolution led the FGE to file an appeal, arguing that there was sufficient evidence to proceed with the case.
The Second Criminal and Civil Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice reviewed the arguments of the Prosecutor’s Office and determined that the grievances were well-founded, reversing the previous decision.
