At a press conference, the “Vivam” App was presented, which seeks to promote different places in Mexico, such as the Island of Cozumel, to help travelers find what they are looking for and businesses to offer their services, which adds to the effort of the Municipal Government headed by Juanita Alonso Marrufo, to promote and boost tourism in this destination in Quintana Roo.
On behalf of Cozumel’s municipal president, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, the general secretary, Ociel González Gonzalez, said that this type of project contributes to the growth of the local community since this digital tool is another window not only for Cozumel but for all of Mexico so that visitors can learn about the different attractions and services available, the attention provided.
“We are very happy that they are joining the promotion of the island with this app that promises to be very successful, and that represents a great help for travelers and businesses dedicated to tourism in Mexico,” he said.
The first councilor president of the Tourism Commission, Angela Carrillo Chulin, welcomed and explained that this application aims to promote tourism in the destination.
It is an application that has four pillars to integrate the entire tourism product, to make it known to the whole world, support micro-entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs so that they can be seen through this tool, promote all the tourism products and the result is to have more people who stay overnight on the island so that they can get to know this Magical Town.
Meanwhile, the developers of the App, Joel Martínez Castillo, Josué Morales Solís, and Pedro Espinosa Sierra, explained that “Vivam” is an acronym for the popular word “Viva México”, which has two currents, the first one is for tourists and the second one is for businesses, with an interface of four different categories, such as “nature”, “culture”, “relaxation” and “events”.
One of the main features that this tourist application, now available in the App Store and Play Store, will have, according to its developers, is the “travel guide” service, which is the same as traveling in one of those buses with a guide who explains each site as it passes, so this app will have this service that will notify you about important points nearby and explain the history and historic importance of the site.
It is worth noting that at the presentation of this digital tourism tool, which took place in the Municipalities of Quintana Roo hall, the fourth councilor of the Tourism Commission, Genny Martínez Koh, and the eighth councilor secretary of the Tourism Commission, Ana Arana Martín, were also present.
