After eight consecutive weeks without new positives, three cases are reported.

Yucatan remains among the 10 Mexican states with the lowest incidence of this disease; although three new cases of dengue were recorded in the most recent epidemiological week.

As of epidemiological week 31 (cut-off date August 5), there are a total of 175 cases of the disease transmitted by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in Yucatan.

Of these, 64 are non-severe dengue; 103 with warning signs, and eight are severe. To date, there are no confirmed deaths from this disease in Yucatan.

The reduction this year is considerable since at the same cut-off date in 2022, there were already 1,392 confirmed positive cases and two deaths.

As part of the actions to keep the mosquito population under control in the state this week, the Yucatan Health Secretariat (SSY) will continue with fumigation actions in Merida and municipalities in the interior of the State from August 12 to 16.
