Two human heads found abandoned on the Leona Vicario highway

Authorities of the Puerto Morelos municipality have not been able to identify the victims or determine the whereabouts of their bodies.

On Thursday, August 22, around eight in the morning, citizens traveling on federal highway 307, near Leona Vicario, came across a disturbing scene: two human heads abandoned in the middle of the road.

Faced with the terrible discovery of the remains, motorists immediately called the 911 emergency number.

Police officers from the municipality of Puerto Morelos quickly went to the Leona Vicario-Valladolid Nuevo section. Upon arrival, the officers confirmed that the human heads belonged to two men. For safety, officers cordoned off the area.

Later, experts from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene to conduct the corresponding investigation. During the process, photographs were taken and evidence was collected. So far, the authorities have not been able to identify the victims or determine the whereabouts of their bodies.

The local community has expressed its dismay and concern at this act of violence, not knowing the motives and identity of those who perpetrated this crime. The police forces deployed an operation to try to locate those responsible for this horrendous act; however, no one was found.

The State Attorney General’s Office continues with the investigations to clarify the facts and bring those responsible for this crime to justice.
