Uber obtains judicial permission to operate at the Cancun airport

Uber announced that following a favorable court ruling, its drivers no longer need additional concessions or authorizations to operate at Cancun International Airport.

This decision, issued by a judge, guarantees that the platform’s driver partners can pick up passengers near the air terminal without facing legal restrictions.

The ruling, which translates into a definitive suspension of the need for special permits, has allowed users to request the Uber service at the airport since August 15.

Uber has lower rates than conventional taxis and is cheaper for those arriving in Cancun.

In the face of possible conflicts with authorities or taxi drivers, Uber has taken proactive measures to protect its drivers.

The company has distributed a detailed guide indicating how to proceed if a concession or permit is required.

In addition, Uber has recalled that drivers are not required to present any authorization since the judicial suspension allows them to operate without restrictions.

In emergency cases, the platform has enabled a button that connects directly to 911, offering immediate assistance to its driver partners in risky situations.

Uber also reaffirms its commitment to safety and non-violence, promoting accessible and peaceful mobility for all.
