Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal inaugurates VIATURA, a new tourism project, generating jobs and economic spillover in the state’s interior.

Mérida, Yucatán, August 15, 2024.- Yucatán reiterates itself as an ideal destination to invest and visit with tourism projects such as Viatura Hacienda Xtojil, a novel concept that Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal inaugurated last night and that combines lodging with experiences that highlight local natural attractions, diversifying our offer to tourism and bringing jobs and economic spillover to the interior of the state.

Viatura Hacienda Xtojil is part of the 21 new projects announced this same day by Vila Dosal for the state, which already amounts to more than 45 billion pesos in investments for the tourism sector during his administration, an economic spillover that is not only perceived in Mérida but also in municipalities such as Tixkokob, Temax, Tekit, Valladolid, Cuzamá, Tekantó, Sisal, Hunucmá, Espita, Tecoh, Tinum, and Dzemul.

In the community of Sotuta de Peón, in the municipality of Tecoh, the Governor, accompanied by the General Director of Grupo Presidente and President of the National Tourism Business Council (CNET), Braulio Arsuaga Losada, led the start of operations of this new site that offers stays based on nature and experiences.

In his message, the Governor thanked the trust in Yucatan, as this new concept comes to put down roots in the state and is only the beginning of the relationship between Yucatan and Grupo Presidente since Yucatan has an unmatched cultural and natural wealth.

Before the head of the Secretariat for Tourism Development (Sefotur), Michelle Fridman, Vila Dosal asserted that tourism has been a priority in his Government since it is an opportunity to bring jobs to communities that other industries do not reach.

«We see tourism as a great employer that can bring opportunities to all corners of Yucatan and we also have everything, archaeological sites, cenotes, farms, and coast,» he added.

In this sense, the Governor pointed out that with this project and with the others, what is being sought is to generate jobs and preserve the customs of our state. That is why in these 6 years of his administration 45 billion pesos have been achieved in tourism investment.
