Once again, the state of Yucatan is a national reference in terms of security, registering the lowest incidence of crime compared to the rest of the states in Mexico.
According to the most recent report from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (Sesnps) in July, the incidence of crime in Yucatan is 9 times lower than that registered at the national level. Confirming the state as one of the safest in Mexico.
Yucatan also stands out as the first place with the lowest rate of intentional homicides with 1.05 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, in contrast to the national rate of 11.37 cases. The rate of vehicle theft is registered with 1.13 cases as opposed to 39.29 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
There are also fewer cases of extortion, with 0.04 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants compared to 4.51 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the other states.
Similarly, Yucatán was ranked second in the rate of home robbery with 1.73 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, this being the historical minimum and much lower than the national rate of 20.67 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Finally, the state was among the three states with the least robbery of pedestrians registering 0.81 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, being the lowest figure in its history and far from the national reality, where 27.72 cases were registered; as well as with a lower rate of femicides, having 0.32 cases per 100 thousand women, below the national number of 0.69 cases.
All this confirms Yucatán as a national reference in security, all thanks to the Yucatán Seguro strategy, where equipment, technology, and better training for the police were provided, in turn to the implementation of 6,775 cameras.
