In a meeting with artisans and suppliers, it was determined that this weekend the places that each one would occupy in the recently renovated space would be defined.

With the artisans and suppliers of “Mérida en Domingo”, the Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada agreed to make the necessary arrangements so that the program returns to the Plaza Grande on September 29.

“The most important thing is their peace of mind and to find the best way for them to have more and more income for their families,” she indicated.

In a meeting at the Municipal Palace with the representatives of the participants in the program, it was also determined that this weekend the places that each one would occupy in the recently renovated space would be defined.

The remodeling work on the Plaza Grande will allow for reorganizing and improving the emblematic Sunday program that crowns the cultural activities of the week including the Tuesdays of Remembrance in Santiago, the Thursdays of Serenade in Santa Lucía, and the Mexican Night in El Remate de Paseo de Montejo.

The Mayor explained to the attendees that the intention is to gradually return to the shows that were held in the center, such as the “Lunes de Vaquería” and the video mapping of the Holy Cathedral.

The Department of Culture will prepare a broad artistic program that will be attractive to tourists and residents of Mérida so that attendance at the Historic Center increases and translates into more clients for providers of various branches.

She also said that in the short and medium term, improvements will be made to the program such as the placement of new awnings and promotion through various means so that the people of Mérida make this space their own every week.

In a new way of governing, dialogue is privileged and all voices are heard to find solutions that benefit the majority.
