The lifeless body of a species known as Tigrillo was found this afternoon on the Mérida-Tetiz stretch, at kilometer 26.

The wild feline was in the middle of the road and everything points to some phantom vehicle having run it over.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that a 《leopardus wiedii》 has been run over along this federal highway.

Despite the presence of wildlife crossings, the wild animals risk crossing the road, so motorists are asked to respect the speed limits.

Less than a month ago in Cansahcab, Yucatán, the Municipal Police of this municipality rescued a tigrillo, that was run over on the Cansahcab-Tizimín highway.

Motorists who noticed the presence of the animal, notified municipal agents who went to kilometer 46 to verify what had happened and assisted the injured animal.

The feline was transferred to the Municipal Palace where the veterinarian Antonio Cauich evaluated it and reported that the feline suffered internal injuries, so its condition is critical.
