A young Argentine man infected with monkeypox, known as monkeypox, died at the General Hospital in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

The news of the death of the foreigner, identified as Santiago Molina, 28 years old, was given by his mother, Claudia Folin.

According to Meganews, the woman released information about her son’s health condition in the Argentine media, to whom she told that Santiago had complications in his respiratory system, genitals, and other areas of the body due to monkeypox.

The young man was connected to a lung tube to drain fluid and also had pelvic tubes to treat an infection.

Doctors from the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen announced that the health of the now deceased was complicated since he was a carrier of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which aggravated the monkeypox condition.

The victim’s parents are carrying out the corresponding procedures to repatriate their son’s body to Argentina.

According to a recent report, Quintana Roo is in second place in the incidence of monkeypox, with eight cases.

However, the variant circulating corresponds to clade IIb, different from the African strain, known as clade I. The strain detected in Mexico is less dangerous. However, authorities must follow precautionary measures to prevent its spread.
