More than 100 kilograms of marijuana and various synthetic drugs such as crack and crystal were seized by state and federal forces during the search of two properties in Mérida and Kanasín.
On Friday, September 27th, on Calle 34 between 19 and 21 in the Leona Vicario neighborhood, in the municipality of Kanasín, approximately 104 kilograms of cannabis distributed in partitions, bags, and jars were seized; chemical drugs were also found.
Yesterday, on Avenida Quetzalcóatl between Calle 16 in the Chichén Itzá neighborhood, east of Mérida, and as part of these joint actions against drug dealing in Yucatán, approximately six kilograms of marijuana were seized.
In both searches, the authorities seized personal identification documents, among other evidence related to the commission of the crime.
These operations are the result of anonymous citizen calls to 089 and previous investigations and interventions in which evidence, statements from witnesses and detained persons made available to the corresponding authorities have been obtained.
In the searches, supervised by control judges, elements of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) assigned to the State Investigation Police (PEI), the Canine Unit (K9) and Citizen Security participate, in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
