Federal transporters protest against Uber in Cancun, Quintana Roo

Federal transporters from Cancun, Quintana Roo, argue that there is “unfair competition” from the Uber platform. They demonstrated this Saturday against the Uber platform in Cancun, Quintana Roo.

This demonstration generated intense traffic in this important tourist city.

The transporters argue that there is “unfair competition” from the Uber platform.

The protest had as its main point the Cancun International Airport, where more than 200 vehicles formed a caravan.

Tourists and private motorists were the most affected by this situation.

“Uber is illegal in the Cancun Airport, it is a Federal Zone,” were some of the slogans of the transporters.

Motorists were trapped in the blockades, and their cell phones were being checked by the protesters to confirm that they did not belong to Uber.

A brawl broke out in the airport parking lot, which went viral on social media.

The protesters caravan took off from the Glorieta del Ceviche towards the Hotel Zone.
