Behind bars, the four suspects in the murder of a businessman
Mérida, Yucatán, September 21, 2024.- During a long hearing, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) formulated the indictment of four people involved in the death of an automotive businessman that occurred a week ago in a shopping mall in the north of the city, where J.M.N. and E.P.V.R. were charged with the crime of qualified homicide and R.B.R. and M.A.C. were charged with the crime of concealment.
After the execution of arrest warrants, in coordinated action between FGE personnel and agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) of the SSP, they were presented today at the Second Control Court of the First District, where this social representation formulated the accusation against the four involved, and then argued the link to the process of the accused, who invoked the duplicity of the legal term to resolve their legal situation, for which the parties were summoned to resume the hearing on September 25.
According to the investigation carried out under criminal case 361/2024, the specialists of the Prosecutor’s Office detailed the events recorded on the 14th of this month, when through a call to the emergency number 9-1-1 it was said that a person had been wounded with a firearm in a shopping mall located in the Las Américas subdivision, who would have been transferred by his companions in a private vehicle to a private hospital, where he later lost his life as a result of the injuries received.
Before the end of the hearing, the litigation prosecutors presented the arguments to support the request for the precautionary measure of official preventive detention, which was granted by the Control Judge, who granted it for the entire duration of the process, so those involved will remain deprived of their liberty until their participation in the reported events is clarified.
