Three hitmen from Tijuana, Baja California, would have planned, on request, the murder of Monterrey businessman José Ángel Dávila Bernal, murdered in Plaza Royal Campocielo, located at the confluence of the Industrial Park and Dzityá, according to data obtained from sources related to security in Yucatan.
Investigations in this regard indicate that a person, who is not in Mexico but in a Central American country, ordered the businessman to be killed.
Unofficial sources reported that there were two people detained, a man and a woman, who would have participated directly in the homicide.
The authorities located another suspect in the state of Querétaro, but as of the morning of Friday, September 20, his arrest had not been reported.
Various sources agreed that during the investigation it was known that the detainees were hitmen with a criminal background, not only in Mexico but in the United States too.
The murderers lived in Tijuana and arrived in Mérida approximately five months ago to establish a relationship with their victim, to kill him more easily.
It has been said that the businessman worked for a criminal group and his car lot was used to “launder” money, although this is unofficial, the type of execution corresponds to some kind of settling of scores.
It was learned, through an unofficial version, that Dávila Bernal and the three named people met in the Plaza Royal Campocielo on the day of the events.
The woman would have served as a “decoy,” it was said, to take the businessman out of the place, put him into a vehicle and that was where the other two killed him, shooting him eight times.
One of the bullets went straight to the head, causing his death instantaneously. Then, people known to the businessman put him in a vehicle and took him to a hospital, where he died.
After the attack, the three people tried to flee, however, the State Investigative Police (PEI) located them. However, since they did not find anything that compromised them at that time, they released them.
The three, various sources agree, left the State, but two returned for their belongings in previous days, so the police detained them and accused them of drug possession.
It is expected that on Saturday, September 21st, after several searches, they will release the arrest warrants for his legal detention and place him at the disposal of the judicial authority.
