The renovations of the Plaza Grande are in the final part, given the commemorative activities for Mexico’s Independence.

And the colorful tourist letters that form “Mérida” are already installed next to the flagpole. Their placement began after 10 am and they stood out again as people passed by.

The above is an indication that the work in the plaza is about to conclude. It was found out that the work would be delivered this week (before Friday, September 13th) so that the Grito de Independencia ceremony and the subsequent concert could be held massively.

For September 15, a show with entertainers was announced from 9 pm on Sunday, and at 10:45 pm the Grito de Independencia ceremony will begin, which will be led by María Fritz Sierra from the Government Palace.

At the end, the Calibre 50 group will give a concert, with a stage on 61st Street, next to the Cathedral.

The following day, at 7:45 a.m., the national flag will be raised in the Plaza Grande and then the commemorative civic-military parade.
