With projects focused mainly on environmental education, the new board of directors of the Mérida Norte Rotary Club was officially sworn in, headed by Ricardo Coral Rodríguez, whose organization is also celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Coral Rodríguez will lead the group in the 2024-2025 period and highlighted that among the group’s flagship projects is the Tree Museum (Museo del Árbol), located in Motul.
“We do many reforestation activities, we attend schools, we give talks, workshops, we also celebrate World Earth Day, on April 22,” said the new head.
“We work on literacy issues, this month we celebrate in Rotary precisely the Month of Literacy and Basic Education, we deliver school kits in police stations, and in this case, it was in Paraíso, in Maxcanú,” he added.
“We also have dental care brigades in the communities, a team of club allies who will support us in this area, we will continue with environmental education and reforestation, activities that have become the hallmark of our club. We will also work on issues of recycling, water care, and sanitation, we are working based on the calendar established by Rotary International,” Coral Rodriguez concluded.
