Puerto Morelos participated in the recent trade mission that traveled to Montreal, to strengthen the connection between businessmen from Quintana Roo and Canada, thus generating strategic alliances and investment for the state.
Raúl Guadarrama García, municipal secretary of Sustainable Tourism, highlighted the role of this initiative in promoting the destination and its opportunities.
The “Flavors of Mexico” Festival, held from September 10 to 16 with the support of the Mexican Consulate in Montreal, was one of the most notable activities of this mission.
This event allowed us to showcase the gastronomic wealth of Quintana Roo and Puerto Morelos through the participation of local and national chefs.
One of the key events was the Networking Cocktail, organized by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Latin American Leaders Network (Latam Leadership Network), with the participation of members of the Chinese Business Chamber of Toronto.
The event, held at the Vector Global offices, presented Puerto Morelos as a destination with great investment opportunities.
At the Gastronomic Exhibition held at the Consulate General of Mexico in Montreal, chef Luis David Sánchez from Puerto Morelos, along with other renowned chefs, presented a selection of traditional dishes such as Duck Magret Papadzul with Pepita Sauce and Aguachile Negro by Ribeye.
Chef Luis David Sánchez also stood out in the “La Mera Mera Salsa de la Capital Region of Canada” competition, where his black recado sauce with tatemado habanero won first place in the “Traditional Sauce” category.
“We are showing a Puerto Morelos that not only has natural beauties, such as its turquoise sea and spectacular beaches, but also a high-level culinary offer, supporting local producers and promoting a sustainable economy,” declared Guadarrama García.
The promotion also included a Mexican Night in Toronto and other events at the Mexican Embassy in Canada. With this commercial mission, Puerto Morelos consolidates its international presence and attracts new investment opportunities.
