The State government has fulfilled the ten actions committed to reduce waiting times and offer quality public transportation, according to an official bulletin.
At an event led by María Fritz Sierra, head of the governor’s office, 58 new buses were presented that will soon operate on five routes of the Va y Ven System, reaching a total of 740 units, which represents an 80% progress.
Rafael Hernández Kotasek, head of the Yucatán Transportation Agency (ATY), announced that on September 28, the fifth electric route of the Ie-Tram will begin operations, which will connect the Cetram La Plancha with the Cetram Umán, allowing transfers with around 19 Va y Ven routes.
Hernández Kotasek highlighted that, initially, 350 buses had been promised, and now 740 have been incorporated, more than double what was planned.
He also reported on the progress of three new routes in the interior of the state, where the Va y Ven is already operating in Tizimín and Valladolid, and work is being done on its implementation in Tekax. This last project was delayed due to the discovery of archaeological remains in the area where the electric units were to be installed.
