Uber introduces vehicle rentals in an easier, safer, and more flexible way with options for travelers’ needs.
Yucatán, one of Mexico’s top tourist destinations, is known for its cultural richness and unique cuisine. Uber has innovated how travelers can move around more easily and safely in this area.
Recently, Uber launched a car rental service, allowing tourists to access a car and use it while visiting any state where the service is available.
In partnership with expert companies in this field, mobility in Yucatán has been boosted.
MEX Rent-A-Car Partnership
For 11 years, MEX Rent-A-Car has had a web partnership with Uber in leasing. “We offer exceptional digital services while constantly renewing our fleet. Strategic alliances like the one with Uber allow us to continue meeting tourists’ needs,” said Amelia Guevara, MEX Rent A Car’s media director.

“We continuously innovate to provide more and better options for everyone who trusts the app. We understand the importance of tourism in Yucatán and recognize that the app is often the first point of contact for visitors,” said Marta Castro, Uber’s communication director in Mexico.
How MEX Rent A Car Came to Mexico
The company started in La Paz, Baja California Sur, and expanded to 22 locations, including Mérida, Cancún, and Mexico City.
How Car Rentals Work
Tourists or business travelers can rent a vehicle for as long as they need. The rental period varies from 1 to 15 days, depending on the user’s needs, with vehicles ranging from SUVs to vans for 10-12 people.
Requirements for Renting a Car
Users can reserve a car up to 90 days in advance through the Uber app. They need to select the rental option, choose a date, the driver’s age, and the location. Available cars will be listed with daily costs and vehicle details. After accepting the terms and conditions and making the payment, users can pick up the car by presenting a valid license, credit card, and official ID.
“Sometimes, MEX Más Rent A Car requests additional information such as hotel accommodation and flight tickets that match the rental days for greater security of the tourists.
Once the documentation is ready, a contract is provided, and the vehicle inspection process begins. An assistant checks that it is delivered properly, including the mileage and fuel level.”
