On the morning of Thursday, October 10, a man climbed one of the high-tension power line towers to draw the attention of the authorities and claim his right to see his children and support them.

The information collected indicates that at 7 a.m., the man climbed one of the high-voltage electrical energy distribution towers, located in the middle of the jungle, on the land of the San Ángel de Kanasín subdivision.

The man, apparently identified by the nickname “Caballo” (The Horse), held at the highest part of the structure and very close to the high-tension cables, asked the agents of the State Investigative Police (PEI) who arrived at the place, to let their children see it.

The man explained that he only wanted to see his children once or twice a week and be able to support them, “like any dad would do,” the man explained and asked the authorities to do something to achieve his goal.

From the top of the tower, the subject also asked for some water to drink.

A commander from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) spoke with the man and informed him that his children would arrive at the scene. The man went down to the middle part of the tower to drink water provided by an element of the SSP Fire Department.

The intrepid father climbed back to the highest part of the tower, where he performed four or five push-ups, stopped, and told the agent: “I’m going to trust you, commander,” and immediately descended from the structure.

Once on the ground, the man was treated by paramedics from the corporation. Commander Carlos Flores Moo kept his promise and, in a corporation vehicle, he took the man’s children who wanted to see them to the place. After meeting his children, the man was transported in a private vehicle and the children returned in the SSP truck that had taken them to that place.
