Strong explosion shatters home in Cancun
One man died and two were injured by an explosion inside a home in the Cumbres Residential Subdivision.
A fatal accident caused the death of one person and injuries to two more inside a home located in the Cumbres Residential Subdivision, which is located in Cancun, Quintana Roo.
The events occurred around 4:30 p.m. on October 10, when three workers were installing a golf simulator inside a home in the residential complex.
According to initial testimonies, the workers were working with solvents, whose flammable gases reacted with a spark, generating an explosion and, subsequently, a fire.
Inside were the three workers, whose names were not shared by the authorities, one of whom died instantly, while the other two suffered third-degree burns.
The two surviving workers were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute, where they were diagnosed as stable.
Meanwhile, members of the Fire Department of the municipality of Benito Juárez worked at the scene of the incident to control and extinguish the fire caused by the explosion of the solvents.
