The damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Celestún required the help of several people and dogs. Alejandra Estrella and other people from Mérida wanted to contribute and invited the society to donate dog food for the dogs of that port.

In an interview, the activist mentioned that she and the people she collaborates with do not belong to any civil association and are not dog rescuers. They are citizens who seek support in these complicated times, and on their first trip yesterday, Wednesday, they delivered clothes and pantries.

However, the authorities of Celestún told them that although help is flowing, many people are in need. Many dogs also need help, which is why on Saturday, October 12, they will take food to Celestún. They invited the Merida Society to join this cause by donating dog food.

She also said that on the first trip, they delivered clothes, food, medicine, and dog food. However, they have decided to return because help is needed and what is most urgently needed are diapers, sanitary towels, wet wipes, medicines, and dog food, especially the latter, since many dogs on the streets have nothing to eat.

For this reason, Alejandra Estrella invited people to contribute by donating food, which can be of any brand, except for those sold in bulk by supermarkets to be able to deliver them, you can call her telephone number: 99 97 06 09 85 that they can be informed where they can take the food.

For people who wish to donate and cannot take the food to the collection centers, Alejandra and other collaborators could pick it up.

Although she is not in favor of monetary donations, they will accept them and donors will be shown receipts that the resource was used for kibble.

She added that, although they will make a second trip this coming Saturday, people who, due to different circumstances, cannot donate before tomorrow and wish to donate croquettes the following week, will be able to do so, since the idea they have is to travel carrying help from continuously for the benefit of the animals of that port. Likewise, those who cannot donate dog food but have clothing, food for people, diapers, sanitary napkins, wet wipes, and medicines can also donate and everything raised will be taken to Celestún for the people and animals that lost everything due to the hurricane Milton earlier this week.
